How Many Lessons Do I Get Per Month?
Monthly tuition is based on a 48-week year (see our calendar below), and on average you will receive 4 lessons per month. We are closed four weeks for holidays. In the long months, you will get five lessons, short months such as November and December, you will get three lessons, and most months you will get four lessons. The tuition is the SAME each month; i.e. we don’t charge you more when you have five lessons, and we don’t charge you less when you have three lessons in a month. This makes everyone’s accounting easier! WE ARE OPEN THROUGH THE SUMMER! If you need a lesson rescheduled just send us a text!
How Do I Pay For Lessons?
For student/staff safety, we cannot accept cash or checks. Tuition is drafted automatically on the 25th of each month for the following month’s tuition by pre-authorized credit cards or electronic check/ACH. Tuition is never prorated for missed lessons, but lessons can be rescheduled if cancellations are made by 9:00am on the same day. If an instructor is unavailable for a lesson, the lesson may be rescheduled or a substitute instructor may be offered. No makeups or prorations will be offered if a student misses a group class.
Can parents sit in on lessons?
Parents are welcome to sit in on lessons! We are committed to building positive relationships with our families and want to extend an invitation for parents to be as involved in the lessons process as they would like to be. We also have a comfortable lobby available for parents and guests as well, and parents of students over the age of seven can feel free to drop students off, so long as students are never left unaccompanied and parents are back to pick up their student before their lesson ends.
What curriculum do you use and what materials should I purchase?
Music lessons at Monroe Music Academy are custom-tailored to the unique needs and interests of the student. Whether you are just wanting to learn to play for fun, or if you want to become an advanced player ready for performance, we will adapt to your needs. Instructors have a variety of methods at their disposal and will help work out a customized roadmap for your student at the first lesson to help them achieve their goals. At that point, the instructor may ask you to purchase a method book or other materials, or they may have materials available for you to use. Students of stringed instruments need to bring their own instrument their lesson, and at minimum should have their own tuner and picks.
